On February 20, Samsung will host a major press event where we’re expecting to see brand new gadgets unveiled.

Chief among them will be the Galaxy S10, a new smartphone that will compete against the iPhone XS.

But Samsung has also updated its Galaxy Wearable app for Android phones with some new icons that reveal upcoming wearable gadgets too, as spotted by SamCentralTech.

The headline gadget is the Galaxy Watch Active smartwatch, which will have a 40mm face.

There’s only one small image of the device, but it looks very attractive – with a round face rivalling Apple’s squared-off smartwatch.

The watch also features virtual hands and a customisable face, as well as at least two buttons on the exterior.

Samsung’s app also leaked two new fitness bands, which are named the Galaxy Fit and Galaxy Fit e.

It’s not entirely clear what the “e” in Fit e stands for, but it might signify additional features, like heart-rate tracking.

And Samsung’s app also confirms the existence of the widely leaked Galaxy Buds – a pair of wireless earbuds designed to compete directly with the Apple AirPods.

Samsung also revealed that new fitness tracker bands are on the way

The news comes just a day after Samsung accidentally leaked the release date and specs for the Galaxy S10.

Samsung’s US website launched a “register your interest” page for the new phone.

If you sign up for updates, you’ll be given “early access to pre-order”.

And in fine print at the bottom of the page, Samsung confirms that this reservation period runs from February 21 to March 7.

That suggests that the phone will go on sale on February 21, and start shipping on March 8.

A second leak comes courtesy of Samsung France, which added a page to its website revealing the names of the three Samsung phone models expected to launch – as spotted by specialist blog Sammobile.

These include the Samsung Galaxy S10e, Samsung Galaxy S10, and Samsung Galaxy S10+.

The Galaxy S10 is likely to be the core model in the trio, which will only be superseded by the Galaxy S10+. The latter is reportedly going to be more powerful, and costlier too.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy S10e is supposedly going to be a cheaper option, designed to rival Apple’s more budget-friendly iPhone XR.
