GPS’s tour to White Mountain

GPS’s eager prefects arriving at White Mountain.

Glencoe Primary school prefects went on their annual leadership course on January 18, accompanied by Mr Lloyd and Mr Theron.
This year the school went to White Mountain near Giants Castle. The learners were eagerly greeted by their instructors upon arrival and it was soon apparent that a great weekend was in store for them. Their chalet accommodation was five star. Activities comprising of group dynamics, problem-solving, swimming, zip lining (110m across and just as far down), abseiling, hiking and various night excursions are but a few of what was crammed into the weekend.
A lot was gained and trust was built between the learners helping them develop into future leaders. GPS is encouraging skills training that can be useful to society. After the Head Boy, Johannes de la Port gave his thank-you speech, it was time to leave for home and everyone had sad faces.
