Shippin’ Out July 4-10: Crackdown 2

Independence Day arrives with a fizzle, as Ruffian Games’ 360-exclusive open-world actioner joins High Voltage’s Wii-only Tournament of Legends, and not much else. Fireworks may be the name of the game on the 4th of July, but the US game industry’s release lineup for the week is anything but scintillating. The dearth of releases is headlined by Microsoft’s sequel to 2007′s open-world action adventure Crackdown, as well as the latest Wii exclusive from High Voltage Software.

Shippin’ Out May 16-22: Red Dead Redemption, Alan Wake, Prince of Persia

Huge week at retail sees the launch of new games from Rockstar, Remedy, and Ubisoft, as well as Split/Second, Dragon Age: Origins’ latest DLC, and more. Even with dreadful April sales figures prompting analysts to second-guess the state of the industry, pretty much everyone expects May to be a huge month at retail.
